On or about Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021, around 6:50 in the morning, a major single-vehicle school bus accident left one woman dead and sent four children to the hospital. Officials from the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported along Green River Road in Zirconia, North Carolina.

Authorities from the area said 53-year-old Tina Gordon was killed and four students were injured when the school bus they were on allegedly drove off the side of Green River Road and flipped. Gordon died of her injuries a short time after the accident, while four students aboard the bus were taken to a nearby hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity.

According to Google Maps, Green River Road winds east and west through Zirconia, which is about 101 miles west of Charlotte.

Police are still looking into the incident.
