On or about Sunday, November 15th, 2020, around 1:00 in the morning, an accident between a disabled car and an 18-wheeler left a 58-year-old man from Warner Robins dead. State Patrol said the accident happened on the southbound side of Interstate 475 near the Eisenhower Parkway in Macon, Georgia.

Deputies from Bibb County said 58-year-old Todd Allen Glessner was killed when his disabled Honda Civic was allegedly struck from behind by a tractor-trailer driven by 26-year-old Jonathan Smith. Police said Glessner’s car had become disabled when it struck a tire that might have fallen from the back of an RV.

Paramedics pronounced Glessner dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident. Officials did not mention any other injuries stemming from the crash.

Google Maps shows Interstate 475 is six lanes wide, with a concrete barrier separating north and southbound traffic. The scene of the accident is situated in the far western part of Macon.

Georgia State Patrol and local police assisted at the scene of the crash.
