On or about Thursday, December 31st, 2020, around 7:00 in the evening, a single-vehicle tractor-trailer accident left one man dead and sent five others to the hospital. Local police said the accident happened at the exchange of Highway 60 and Crimson Road in Mesa, Arizona.

Authorities said 50-year-old Todd Welliver was killed, while five others were injured when an 18-wheeler allegedly drove through the intersection of Crimson Road on Highway 60 and slammed into a nearby house. Welliver died of his injuries a short time after the accident. Four other people in the house, as well as the truck driver suffered unknown injuries. Two of the victims were last reported in critical condition.

According to Google Maps, Highway 60 runs east and west, while Crimson Road runs north and south. Mesa is located roughly 19 miles east of downtown Phoenix.

Officials from multiple agencies are assisting in the accident investigation.
