Details:
On or about Saturday, February 19th, 2022, around 7:20 in the evening, a major single-vehicle car accident left one man dead and sent a child to the hospital. Department of Public Safety Troopers said the accident was reported in the 1700 block of Highway 287 in Mansfield, Texas.
Texas DPS personnel said Tommy Tabor was killed and an as-of-yet unidentified juvenile passenger was injured when the pickup truck they were in allegedly drove off the side of Highway 287 and crashed into a building a short distance off the pavement. Tabor and the passenger were rushed to the hospital where Tabor succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival.
According to Google Maps, Mansfield is on the south side of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
