On or about Friday, January 22nd, 2021, around 1:57 in the afternoon, an accident between an SUV, a car, and a tractor-trailer left one woman dead and sent a man to the hospital. Troopers from the DPS said the accident happened along Highway 349 just outside Midland in Martin County, Texas.
Local law enforcement spokespeople said a Buick Lacrosse driven by 31-year-old Casey Ketchersid allegedly struck the back of a tractor-trailer and a car driven by 56-year-old Toni Place. Place died of her injuries a short time after EMS responded to the scene. Paramedics transported Ketchersid to the hospital with unknown injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer did not report injuries after the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 8 miles north of Midland.
Troopers from the Department of Public Safety are investigating the accident.
