Details:
On or about Thursday, October 15th, around 6:42 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck claimed the life of a 33-year-old man from Kerrville. The accident happened on Highway 290 in Stonewall, Texas.
Troopers from the Texas DPS have said that 33-year-old Travis Jacob Peters was killed when the Ford F-350 pickup truck he was driving westbound on Hwy 290 allegedly veered over the center line and collided with an eastbound tractor-trailer driven by 46-year-old Balit Singh.
First responders pronounced Peters dead a short time after the collision. Singh was taken to Hill Country Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Highway 290 runs east and west through the center of Stonewall according to Google Maps. Stonewall is located about 63 miles east of Austin.
Department of Public Safety Troopers and officials from Gillespie County assisted at the scene of the crash.
