Details:
On or about Tuesday, March 1st, 2022, around 3:05 in the afternoon, a major accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left a 32-year-old Sayre man dead. Troopers from the OHP said the accident was reported at or near the intersection of E1160 and N1940 in Beckham County, Oklahoma.
Representatives from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said 32-year-old Travis Lee Gartner was killed when the vehicle he was driving was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer at the intersection of East Road 1160 and North Road 1940. Emergency responders pronounced Gartner dead a short time after the collision.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of East Road 1160 and North Road 1940 is about 2 miles outside of Elk City.
Police are still examining the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
