On or about Saturday, December 12th, 2020, around 1:15 in the afternoon, a three-vehicle accident involving a box truck sent two people to the hospital. State Troopers said the accident happened along Route 97 in Norwich, Connecticut.

Investigators said that two people were injured when a passenger vehicle and a box truck allegedly collided head-on. After the initial collision, one of the vehicles then struck a nearby pickup truck. Emergency responders transported two people from the scene to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

First responders remarked the design of the vehicles contributed a great deal to saving the lives of those involved. Photos from the scene of the accident show the car sustained severe damage to the front end.

State and local law enforcement are still investigating the crash.
