On or about Tuesday, March 29th, 2021, around 6:40 in the morning, an accident between a car, a box truck, and a UPS truck sent two people to the hospital. Authorities from the VSP said the accident happened along the northbound side of Interstate 81 in Montgomery County, Virginia.
Investigators said two people were injured when a box truck, a UPS truck, and a car collided in a chain-reaction accident. Officials did not elaborate as to what may have started the chain-reaction crash. Paramedics transported two victims to the hospital with injuries of an unknown nature or severity.
Department of Transportation officials closed all the northbound lanes of Interstate 81 in order to tend to victims and clean up the scene.
State and local law enforcement are investigating the accident.
