Details:
On or about Tuesday, November 30th, 2021, around 11:45 at night, a single-vehicle accident with an alleged drunk driver sent two individuals to the hospital. Investigators from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported along Shane Road at or near the intersection with Villamain Road in San Antonio, Texas.
Law enforcement officials said an as-of-yet unidentified adult and teenager were injured when the vehicle they were in allegedly lost control when it drove over train tracks and crashed into a wooded patch a short distance off the pavement. Emergency responders transported a man and a teenager to a nearby hospital where the teen was last reported in critical condition by medical staff.
Officials have since charged the driver with intoxication assault in connection with the accident.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Shane Road and Villamain Road is on the south side of San Antonio.
Police are still examining the factors that contributed to the incident.
