On or about Wednesday, August 25th, 2021 an accident between two dump trucks sent two people to the hospital. Local law enforcement personnel said the accident occurred along Highway 27 in Red Banks, Tennessee.

Troopers from the Tennessee State Police said two as-of-yet unidentified people were injured when two dump trucks collided under unspecified circumstances while driving on Highway 27. At least one of the trucks caught fire following the accident. Emergency responders transported the two drivers to the hospital with injuries of an unknown nature or severity.

According to Google Maps, Highway 27 runs north and south along the eastern edge of Red Banks, which is situated on the northern edge of the Chattanooga area.

Police are examining the factors that may have contributed to the incident.
