On or about Wednesday, July 7th, 2021, around 1:45 in the afternoon, an accident between a sedan and a dump truck sent two people to the hospital. Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along the southbound side of Interstate 55 in Ste. Genevieve County, Missouri.

Troopers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol said two as-of-yet unidentified people were injured when the car they were in allegedly collided with a dump truck on the southbound side of Interstate 55 near mile marker 164. Paramedics transported the driver of the car and a 10-year-old passenger to a nearby hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 55 runs north and south through Ste. Genevieve County, which is situated about 61 miles south of downtown St. Louis.

Police are still investigating the incident.
