On or about Monday, November 1st, 2021, around 10:30 in the morning, an accident between a car and a tractor-trailer sent two individuals to the hospital. Authorities from the MSP said the accident was reported at the intersection of Norridgewock Road and Middle Road in Fairfield, Maine.

Deputies from the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department said two as-of-yet unidentified individuals were injured when the car they were in allegedly struck a log truck when the car attempted to turn. The driver of the car allegedly told police they were blinded by the sun in the moments before the accident. Emergency responders transported the driver and passenger in the car to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries.

According to Google Maps, Fairfield is about 77 miles north of Portland.

Officials are still investigating the crash.
