On or about Tuesday, January 26th, 2021, around 8:31 in the morning, a single-vehicle school bus accident sent a driver and student to the hospital. Authorities from the area said the accident happened along Chestnut Ridge Road in Black Lick Township, Pennsylvania.

Law enforcement sources said a driver and student were injured when the school bus they were on allegedly slid off the road and slammed into a tree a short distance off the pavement. Paramedics transported the driver and one of the five students to the hospital.

Police said the road conditions were icy at the time of the accident.

Google Maps shows Chestnut Ridge Road winds through a rural area. Black Lick Township is located about 46 miles east of Pittsburgh.

Multiple agencies responded to the scene to assist in the investigation.
