On or about Friday, November 20th, 2020, around 4:30 in the morning, a tanker truck explosion on an interstate sent two individuals to the hospital. Investigators said the accident happened on the eastbound side of Interstate 12 near Walker Road in Livingston Parish, Louisiana.

Authorities said a State Trooper and one other person were injured when a tanker truck allegedly rear-ended a Louisiana State Police vehicle on the eastbound shoulder of the interstate. After the initial collision, the tanker truck exploded. Both victims were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The tanker truck burned for several hours following the explosion.

Google Streetview shows Interstate 12 is six lanes wide in the area, with a concrete barrier wall dividing east and westbound traffic. The scene of the accident is located about 22 miles west of Baton Rouge.

The investigation into the crash is still underway.
