Two Injured in Tractor-Trailer Accident on Highway 50 near Canon City

On or about Friday, March 19th, 2021, around 2:00 in the morning, a single-vehicle tractor-trailer accident sent two people to the hospital. Troopers from the CPS said the accident was reported along Highway 50 near the Arkansas River in Canon City, Colorado.
Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Department said two as-of-yet unidentified people were injured when the tractor-trailer they were in allegedly crashed off the side of the highway. Paramedics transported two people from the truck to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries.
Authorities shut down both lanes of traffic on Highway 50 in order to tend to the scene and clean up a fuel spill.
Officials are still working to determine what may have led to the accident.
