On or about Monday, March 8th, 2021, around 1:30 in the afternoon, an accident between two cars and an 18-wheeler sent two people to the hospital. Troopers from the State Police said the accident was reported on the northbound side of Interstate 680 in Youngstown, Ohio.
Police said two people were injured when their cars allegedly collided when they swerved to avoid cargo or debris that had fallen from a tractor-trailer. Emergency responders transported two people to St. Elizabeth Hospital with unspecified injuries. It is not clear if the driver of the tractor-trailer stopped after the crash.
Google Maps shows Interstate 680 winds north and south through Youngtown, which is about 75 miles southeast of Cleveland.
Police are still investigating the accident.
