On or about Thursday, May 13th, 2021, around 6:30 in the morning, a single-vehicle tractor-trailer accident sent two people to the hospital. Deputies from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along the southbound side of Interstate 77 in Princeton, West Virginia.

Troopers West Virginia State Police said two as-of-yet unidentified people were injured when the tractor-trailer they were in allegedly skidded off the southbound side of Interstate 77 and rolled into a wooded ditch. Paramedics transported two people from the truck to a nearby hospital with injuries of an unknown nature or severity. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their initial statement.

Interstate 77 runs north and south through Princeton, which is situated about 92 miles south of Charleston, according to Google Maps.

Several agencies assisted at the scene of the accident.
