On or about Thursday, June 10th, 2021, around 4:10 in the morning, an accident between a semi truck and a tractor-trailer sent two people to the hospital. Police officers said the accident was reported along the westbound side of Interstate 80 just outside Minooka in Will County, Illinois.

Authorities said two as-of-yet unidentified people were injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly crashed into a barrier on the side of westbound Interstate 80 and rolled into the path of another tractor-trailer. Both truck drivers were taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries stemming from the accident. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their initial statement on the accident.

Interstate 80 runs east and west along the northern edge of Minooka, which is about 50 miles southwest of downtown Chicago, according to Google Maps.

State and local law enforcement agencies are assisting in the investigation.
