On or about Friday, December 31st, 2021, a major tractor-trailer accident sent two individuals to the hospital. Spokespeople from the CSP said the accident was reported along the eastbound side of Interstate 84 in Manchester, Connecticut.
Investigators from the Connecticut State Police said two as-of-yet unidentified individuals were injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly lost control and jackknifed across the median of Interstate 84. Emergency responders transported two people from the scene to a nearby hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity. Officials did not indicate if the victims were in the tractor-trailer, or if there was another vehicle involved.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 84 cuts east and west through Manchester, which is about 9 miles east of downtown Hartford.
Officials are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
