Details:
On or about Wednesday, January 20th, 2021, around 5:15 in the morning, an accident between two tractor-trailers left two people injured. Police said the accident happened on the northbound side of Interstate 57 in Champaign County, Illinois.
Investigators said two as-of-yet unidentified people were injured when an 18-wheeler allegedly rear-ended a tractor-trailer. Paramedics transported both truck drivers to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries. Investigators did not mention any other injuries in their initial report.
Interstate 57 cuts directly through the center of Champaign County, with the scene of the accident a short distance outside of the Champaign city limits.
Illinois State Police assisted at the scene of the incident.
