On or about Monday, July 18th, 2021, around 8:40 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a dump truck left two men hurt. Authorities said the accident occurred along the northbound side of Highway 97 just outside Redmond, Oregon.

Deputies from the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Department said two as-of-yet unidentified people were injured when a dump truck allegedly slammed into a tractor-trailer that had rolled across the lanes of traffic on Highway 97. Both the tractor-trailer and the dump truck driver were treated for unspecified injuries after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if they were treated at the scene or taken to a nearby hospital.

According to Google Maps, Highway 97 runs north and south through the center of Redmond, which is situated about 17 miles north of Bend.

Police hope to release the findings of their investigation at a later date.
