Details:
On or about Sunday, October 11th, 2020, around 4:20 in the afternoon, a hit-and-run accident with an 18-wheeler sent two cyclists to the hospital. The accident happened in the westbound lanes of Route 150 just east of the intersection with Spring Lake Road in Champaign County, Illinois.
Troopers from the ISP said that two cyclists were riding westbound when they were hit by a tractor-trailer that was also westbound on Rte 150. One cyclist suffered serious injuries, while the other was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Authorities are still trying to track down the tractor-trailer driver, who fled the scene after the incident.
A look at Google Maps shows that Route 150 is a two lane roadway adjacent to railroad tracks in a rural area.
State Police are currently looking for witnesses that may have seen the accident and have not yet come forward.
