Details:
On or about Wednesday, August 11th, 2021, around 2:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a box truck and a van claimed the lives of two men. Investigators from the FHP said the accident occurred along Bonita Beach Road near the intersection with Downs Drive in Bonita Springs, Florida.
Police said two as-of-yet unidentified men were killed when the van they were in was allegedly struck by a box truck as the van was making a left turn. Emergency responders pronounced two people in the van dead of their injuries after being rushed to a nearby hospital. Authorities did not mention any other vehicles in their initial report on the incident.
According to Google Maps, Bonita Springs is about 28 miles south of Fort Myers.
Police are still investigating.
