Details:
On or about Monday, April 5th, 2021, around 5:05 in the morning, a single-vehicle box truck accident left two people dead. Officials from the NYSP said the accident happened on the eastbound side of the Long Island Expressway in the New Hyde Park area of Long Island, New York.
Troopers from the State Police said two as-of-yet unidentified people were killed when the box truck they were in allegedly veered out of the eastbound lanes and crashed into the Shelter Rock Road overpass. Both occupants in the truck were pronounced dead of their injuries after the accident. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their preliminary report.
New Hyde Park is nestled just east of Queens on Long Island, according to Google Maps.
Police hope to release the findings of their investigation as soon as they become available.
