Details:
On or about Tuesday, February 9th, 2021, around 10:00 in the morning, an accident between a dump truck and a car left a man and a woman dead. Representatives from the FHP said the accident happened at the intersection of County Road 33 and Austin Merritt Road in Lake County, Florida.
Florida Highway Patrol Troopers said a 70-year-old man and a 69-year-old woman were killed when a dump truck allegedly hit their car while they were turning onto County Road 33 from Austin Merritt Road. Emergency responders pronounced the driver and passenger in the car dead a short time after they arrived at the scene of the accident.
Google Maps shows the scene of the accident is located about 35 miles northwest of downtown Orlando.
State and local police are investigating the accident.
