On or about Wednesday, March 23rd, 2022, around 7:45 in the morning, a single-vehicle car accident left two people dead and sent four others to the hospital. Deputies from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along Interstate 35 near the exchange with New Braunfels Avenue in San Antonio, Texas.

Officers from the San Antonio Police Department said two as-of-yet unidentified individuals were killed and four others were injured when the vehicle they were in allegedly drove off the side of I-35 and slammed into a pole. Emergency responders pronounced two people in the SUV dead a short time after the accident, while four others were taken to the hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity. Police said the vehicle may have been avoiding authorities at the time of the accident.

According to Google Maps, the exchange of I-35 and New Braunfels Avenue is on the southeast side of the San Antonio.

Police are still investigating the incident.
