On or about Tuesday, August 31st, 2021, around 9:40 in the morning, an accident between a heavy-duty truck, a pickup, and two other vehicles left two people dead and sent two children to the hospital. Investigators from the area said the accident was reported along Highway 35 near the exchange with County Road 192 in Brazoria County, Texas.
Officers said two as-of-yet unidentified people were killed and two children were injured when a heavy-duty pickup truck allegedly crossed over the center line of Highway 35 and struck a pickup truck and two other vehicles in the oncoming lanes. The driver of the heavy-duty truck and the pickup truck died of their injuries after the accident, while two children were taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries stemming from the accident.
According to Google Maps, Brazoria County is situated a short distance south of downtown Houston.
Police are still working to pin down the cause of the incident.
