Details:
On or about Wednesday, October 6th, 2021, around 8:50 in the morning, an accident between a box truck and a car left two people dead and sent a third to the hospital. Troopers from the SCHP said the accident was reported along the Charleston Highway near the intersection with Featherbed Road in Colleton County, South Carolina.
Investigators said two as-of-yet unidentified individuals were killed while another was injured when a box truck and a Lexus sedan collided under unspecified circumstances. Officials said the box truck was westbound while the car was eastbound at the time of the collision. Paramedics pronounced the driver of the box truck and the driver of the Lexus dead of their injuries after the accident. A passenger in the box truck was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
According to Google Maps, Charleston Highway runs east and west through Colleton County, which is about 54 miles west of downtown Charleston.
Police are still investigating the collision.
