On or about Saturday, February 26th, 2022, sometime in the morning hours, a major two-vehicle car accident left two people dead and sent a third person to the hospital. Representatives from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Highway 83 in Rio Bravo, Texas.
Officials from the Texas DPS said two as-of-yet unidentified individuals were injured when a vehicle allegedly crossed over the center line of the roadway and struck another vehicle in the oncoming lanes. Emergency responders pronounced two people dead of their injuries, while emergency responders transported another person to the hospital with unknown injuries after the accident.
According to Google Maps, the Rio Bravo is about 13 miles south of downtown Laredo.
