On or about Tuesday, March 22nd, 2022, around 6:40 in the evening, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a station wagon left one individual dead and sent two others to the hospital. Representatives from the FHP said the accident was reported along State Road 70 and County Road 29 in Highlands County, Florida.

Spokespeople from the Florida Highway Patrol said two as-of-yet unidentified individuals were killed, while one other person was injured when the Subaru station wagon they were in was allegedly hit by a turning tractor-trailer at Driver of Subaru passenger vehicle at State Road 70 and County Road 29. Emergency responders pronounced the driver and passenger dead, while a second passenger was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

According to Google Maps, Highlands County is about 140 miles south of downtown Orlando.

Multiple agencies responded to the scene to assist.
