Details:
On or about Tuesday, October 27th, 2020, around a head-on collision between a school bus and a utility truck left a 7-year-old girl and a bus driver dead. Troopers said the accident happened in the 7700 block of Highway 58 in Megis County, Tennessee.
Authorities said that a bus driver and a 7-year-old girl died when the school bus they were in was struck head-on by a utility truck owned and operated by Service Electric Company. The driver of the bus and the 7-year-old girl died a short time after the collision. Five children aboard the bus were airlifted to a hospital, while two others were taken by ambulance. The driver of the Service Electric Company utility truck sustained minor injuries.
Looking at the 7700 block of Highway 58 shows a two lane roadway that runs north and south, with wooded patches and grassland on either side of the pavement. Megis County sits about 52 miles north of Chattanooga.
Multiple agencies are currently investigating the accident.
