On or about Friday, July 1st, 2022, around 7:15 in the morning, a major accident between a passenger vehicle and a train left two people dead and sent three children to the hospital. Officials from the Department of Public Safety said the accident occurred at a crossing along Highway 281 in Atascosa County, Texas.
Authorities from the Texas Department of Public Safety said two as-of-yet unidentified adults were killed and three children were rushed to the hospital when the car they were in was allegedly hit by a train at a crossing along Highway 281. Emergency responders pronounced two people dead, while three children in the car were rushed to the hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is not far from the exchange with Strawberry City Road.
