Details:
On or about Thursday, November 4th, 2021, around 10:00 at night, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a tow truck left two individuals dead. Troopers from the NJSP said the accident was reported along Route 72 in Barnegat, New Jersey.
Deputies from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office said two as-of-yet unidentified people were killed when the car they were in allegedly drove over the center line of Route 72 and slammed into a tow truck in the oncoming lanes of traffic. Paramedics pronounced the driver and passenger in the car dead of their injuries a short time after they responded to the scene of the accident.
According to Google Maps, Route 72 runs east and west into Barnegat, which is about 80 miles south of downtown Newark.
Police are still investigating the accident.
