On or about Friday, July 1st, 2022, around 1:30 in the afternoon, a major accident between a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer left two people dead. Authorities from the FHP said the accident was reported along Highway 20 in Walton County, Florida.
Representatives from the Florida Highway Patrol said two as-of-yet unidentified individuals were killed when a pickup truck allegedly crossed over the center line of Highway 20 and hit a tractor-trailer head-on. Paramedics pronounced the driver of the pickup truck dead at the scene, while the driver of the tractor-trailer was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died of his injuries a short time after his arrival.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is not far from Cowford Road.
Police are still examining the factors that may have led to the accident.
