Details:
On or about Thursday, February 4th, 2021, around 5:20 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and two SUVs left two people dead. Troopers from the FHP said the accident happened along Highway 27 near the intersection with Frank Jerrell Road in Clermont, Florida.
Florida Highway Patrol spokespeople said a tractor-trailer allegedly lost control and jackknifed across all of the northbound lanes of Highway 27. Two nearby SUVs collided with the broadside tractor-trailer. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Google Maps shows Highway 27 is six lanes in the area, with a grassy median dividing north and southbound traffic.
State Troopers hope to release more information as soon as it becomes available.
