On or about Monday, October 25th, 2021, around 8:33 at night, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an SUV left two individuals dead. Officials from the Travis County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported in the 5400 block of southbound Interstate 35 in Austin, Texas.

Authorities said two as-of-yet unidentified individuals were killed when the SUV they were in was allegedly struck from behind by a tractor-trailer on southbound I-35. Paramedics pronounced two people in the SUV dead of their injuries a short time after they responded to the collision. Police did not mention any other injuries in their initial statement on the accident.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 35 runs north and south into Austin, with the scene of the accident is situated on the north side of town.

Officials are still examining the circumstances surrounding the accident.
