On or about Friday, February 19th, 2021, around 8:45 at night, an accident between a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer left two people dead. Department of Public Safety Troopers said the accident was reported on the southbound side of Interstate 35 between Slaughter and William Cannon Drive in Austin, Texas.
Representatives from the Travis County Sheriff’s Office said two as-of-yet unidentified people were killed when the pickup they were in and a tractor-trailer collided under unknown conditions. Paramedics pronounced two occupants of the pickup truck dead at the scene of the collision. No other injuries were mentioned by police in their preliminary report.
Officials specifically noted that icy road conditions were not a factor in the accident.
Multiple agencies are assisting in the accident investigation.
