Details:
On or about Tuesday, February 1st, 2022, around 2:14 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left two individuals dead. Authorities from the CHP said the accident was reported at the intersection of Interstate 5 and Highway 140 just outside Gustine in Merced County, California.
Troopers from the California Highway Patrol said an as-of-yet unidentified 68-year-old man and a 66-year-old woman were killed when the vehicle they were in was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer at the intersection of Interstate 5 and Highway 140. Paramedics pronounced the driver and passenger in the vehicle dead of their injuries a short time after the collision.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance west of Gustine, which is roughly 105 miles northwest of downtown San Francisco.
Police are still investigating the accident.
