On or about Wednesday, July 12th, 2021, around 11:35 in the morning, an accident between an SUV and a tractor-trailer left two people dead. Officials from the area said the accident occurred in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 in Dillon County, South Carolina.

Troopers from the South Carolina Highway Patrol said two as-of-yet unidentified people were killed when the SUV they were in was allegedly rear-ended by a tractor-trailer on the southbound side of I-95. After the initial collision, the SUV was pushed off the side of the road and rolled a short distance off the pavement. Both occupants in the SUV were pronounced dead of their injuries following the crash.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 95 runs north and south through the center of Dillon County, which is situated about 107 miles northwest of Columbia.

Police hope to release the findings of their investigation at a later date.
