Details:
On or about Friday, May 21st, 2021, just after 12:00 in the morning, an accident between a car and a tractor-trailer left two people dead. Authorities from the area said the accident was reported on the southbound side of the Major Deegan Expressway in The Bronx, New York.
Police said two as-of-yet unidentified people were killed when a BMW passenger vehicle allegedly struck the back of a tractor-trailer that may have been partially in the roadway and partially on the shoulder. Paramedics pronounced the driver and passenger in the BMW dead of their injuries after the accident. Officials did not mention any other vehicles or injuries in their preliminary statement on the crash.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is not far from Heath Avenue on the Major Deegan Expressway in the University Heights area of the Bronx.
Authorities are still working to determine the cause of the accident.
