On or about Tuesday, December 13th, 2021, around 4:35 in the morning, a major accident between two tractor-trailers left two individuals dead. Troopers from the UHP said the accident was reported along Route 191 just outside Moab, Utah.

Utah Highway Patrol spokespeople said two-as-yet unidentified individuals were killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly collided when one of them veered over the center line of Route 191 to avoid another collision. Emergency responders pronounced the drivers of both vehicles dead of their injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene of the collision.

According to Google Maps, Route 191 cuts north and south through the center of Moab, which is situated about 223 miles southeast of Salt Lake City.

Police are still working to pin down what may have led to the accident.
