On or about Friday, November 12th, 2021, around 8:30 in the morning, a major accident at a work zone left a construction flagger and a commuter dead. Troopers from the MSP said the accident was reported at a work zone along Highway 23 in Isoco County, Michigan.

Spokespeople from the Michigan State Police said an as-of-yet unidentified construction flagger and a driver were killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly failed to slow down and crashed into a work zone, where it struck the construction flagger and the victim’s vehicle. Emergency responders pronounced the victims dead after the accident, but police did not specify if they died at the scene, or if they succumbed to their injures after being rushed to a nearby hospital.

According to Google Maps, Isoco County is about 181 miles north of downtown Detroit.

State and local law enforcement are investigating the cause of the accident.
