On or about Wednesday, December 16th, 2020, a sixty six vehicle accident, including fifty five tractor-trailers, left two people dead and hurt several others. State Troopers said the accident happened in the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 near Greene Township in Clinton County, Pennsylvania.

Authorities said two people were killed when 11 cars and 55 commercial vehicles collided in a chain-reaction accident. Officials said the area had just been covered in dense snow when the accident started, but did not specify how the incident began.

Two people died, but officials noted one of the deaths was due to a medical emergency and not injuries they suffered in the accident.

Law enforcement closed all the westbound lanes of the interstate for several hours in order to clear the scene.

Police are still investigating the accident.
