On or about Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021, a major accident between a school bus and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 31-year-old man and a 14-year-old girl. Representatives from the PSP said the accident was reported along the northbound side of Interstate 79 in Butler County, Pennsylvania.

Investigators said one as-of-yet unidentified 31-year-old man and a 14-year-old girl were killed when the school bus they were on and a tractor-trailer collided under unspecified circumstances while driving northbound on I-79. Both victims died a short time after the accident, while five other students on the bus were rushed to UPMC Children’s Hospital with unknown injuries after the accident.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 79 runs north and south along the western edge of Butler County, which is about 45 miles north of downtown Pittsburgh.

State and local law enforcement assisted at the scene of the incident.
