Details:
On or about Tuesday, December 7th, 2021, around 7:00 in the morning, a serious accident between a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 24-year-old Starkville man. Authorities from the MSP said the accident was reported along the northbound side of Highway 45 Alternate in Clay County, Mississippi.
Investigators from the Mississippi State Police said 24-year-old Tyshon Spencer was killed when the car he was driving was allegedly struck from behind by a tractor-trailer as they were driving northbound on Highway 45 Alternate. Paramedics pronounced Spencer dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the scene of the collision. The driver of the tractor-trailer, who police did not name, was uninjured in the collision.
According to Google Maps, Highway 45 Alternate runs north and south through Clay County, which is located about 144 miles northwest of Jackson.
Police are still looking into the accident.
