On or about Thursday, October 21st, 2021, around 6:05 in the morning, an accident between a log truck and two other vehicles left one man dead and sent one other to the hospital. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Highway 94 just outside of Groveton in Trinity County, Texas.
Texas DPS Officials said 47-year-old Vernon Groze was killed and 38-year-old Bradley McMullen was injured when a log truck allegedly struck both of their vehicles while pulling out of a driveway on Highway 94. Groze died of his injuries at the scene, while McMullen was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries. Police identified the driver of the log truck as Richard Ellis, who was unhurt in the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from Groveton, which is about 107 miles north of downtown Houston.
