Details:
On or about Sunday, May 8th, 2022, a major accident between two trucks left a 50-year-old woman dead and sent a man to the hospital. Representatives from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Business 20 in Odessa, Texas.
Spokespeople from the Texas DPS said 50-year-old Veronica Cortez-Chavez was killed, while Miguel Ortiz was injured when the truck they were in allegedly failed to yield to another truck while turning along Business 20. Emergency responders pronounced Cortez-Chavez dead a short time after the crash, while Ortiz was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity.
According to Google Maps, Business 20 cuts east and west into Odessa.
Officials are still investigating the collision.
