24-Year-Old Victor Zarate Avila was killed in a crash involving an alleged intoxicated driver at the intersection of West Travis and Northwest 24th Streets in San Antonio, TX. San Antonio Police Officers report the crash occurred around 12:38 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025.

The driver of a Chevy Silverado, Arthur Hugo Ruiz, reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign before colliding with a Nissan Sentra. Avila, a passenger in the Sentra, was killed at the scene. Meanwhile, both drivers exited their vehicles and fled on foot.

Police were able to locate the 27-year-old Ruiz, who was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter and collision involving death. Authorities are searching for the driver of the Sentra, who will face silimlar charges.
