On or about Sunday, August 15th, 2021, around 2:22 in the afternoon, an accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 45-year-old Colorado woman. Investigators from the WSP said the accident was reported along Interstate 80 just outside Laramie in Albany County, Wyoming.

Authorities from the area said 45-year-old Whasfia Darwich Watchman was killed when he was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer as he was standing at the scene of a previous accident on Interstate 80. Emergency responders pronounced Darwich dead of her injuries at the scene of the accident. Officials did not mention any other injuries in their preliminary statement on the incident.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 80 runs east and west through Laramie, which is about 113 southeast of downtown Casper.

Officers are still examining the cause of the crash.
